I cannot keep my thoughts very far from you.  You lift my weary soul and soar with me through the universe and back. You are the life of my body and spirit. You are the love of my being. Your words are absorbed in my heart and treasured in my soul. I sigh with wonder, for the psalmist said you think about me all the time.  Me among untold millions?  How can that be?  Because you are everywhere just as you are in my heart, I am in yours and you are Love.

Thank you, God, for the little birds I see outside my window each morning. There they are, ready to greet me. And the sun. Each morning it rises just to say, “I’m back. Didn’t I promise you I would be?”. The darkness is good because it makes me rest. But how I love the morning and the world waking up with it. And thank you for pouring your heart out to the world in your Bible. Now I can know you and have no doubts. How many in this world are willing to pour out their heart to others as you did?

03-Abraham-ThumbnailCoverAh, Lord God, when I look at the mountains, I see you standing on top of them with laughter on your lips, power in your legs, protection in your arms. When I look at the animals in winter, I see you with determination, resilience, and strength against the winds, the sleet, the snow. One of these days I will see the crocuses peeking their heads through the snow and saying to the world, “Hi! Remember me? You’ve almost made it through the winter. See I’m proof.” Oh, the beauty of your universe and all the promises it reflects of their Creator.

Thank you for life and love, for peace and freedom, for family and friends.  And, well, it’s hard for me to do, but well, here goes.  Thank, you for people who talk mean to me, are impatient with me, who mock me, who hate me even though they do not know me.  Thank you for people who misrepresent me, gossip about me, and do not see things the way I do.  Thank you for all these opportunities you put in my path to love those who do not love me.  Like you. Just like you. Thank you for the opportunities to smile when I want to frown, sing when I want to cry.  As you once said long ago, “What does it profit me if I love only those who love me?”.  And, yes, the biggie:  You loved me before I loved you.  I guess it’s my turn now, Lord.  But what’s this forgiving 490 times the same person for the same thing over and over?  Oh, that’s me. I think now I understand.  I am most blest.  Thank you for forgiveness and all those second chances you have given me. How can I ever thank you?  Hmmm… Looks like I’ve gone full circle, my Lord.

He thinks he is because his ego is so large. But, even with his most masterful plan to destroy, you laugh at him and say, “Do your best. You will lose.”  Your Plan to save mankind from him is firmly in place. May more and more people realize they are in danger from Satan who is always lurking in the shadows of everything they do.  May they open their eyes and understand your Plan.  May they draw close to you and your great light of safety. May they happily bow at your throne of majesty. It is not cowardice to run to you; it is wisdom.

Thank you, my Lord, for putting your Words in flesh so we could see you, hear you and walk with you a while, just as you did in the Garden of Eden at the beginning.  When you spoke, that was God speaking.  When you entered a home, that was God entering the home.  When you laughed and cried, that was God laughing and crying.  Though not now, someday you will let me once again walk with you in the garden of heaven. How I long for that day. Keep the door open for me, Lord. Keep it open. I’m walking your way. Do you see me?  I’m headed home.

00-PAUL COVER-Thumbnail-I praise you all mighty God. Oh, how you have spoiled me. You placed diamonds in mountain-top snow, rubies in the flowers, emeralds in the meadows, and delight in the birds that daily sing to me. As I climb the mountain of my life I think back of all the enormous opportunities I had as a youth. As I grow older and climb higher, my choices are narrowing and I am glad. My focus is more and more on you. Someday I will reach the mountain top, and you will be there. You will smile and say, “Welcome home.”

Ah, thank you, my Lord, for all you have done for us through the history of mankind. I, along with everyone else, travel a wilderness, often not making good choices. The frustrations you must feel when I don’t pay attention to you but they do not stop you from loving me. You have been too patient. I adore you, Lord God. You are the Will of the universe, the Voice of the cosmos, the Spirit of the heavens. You provide all my needs. You are my delight now and will be forever. I know someday you will take me home to, not only know you but be with you. What a glorious day it will be. Though others may weep, I will awake in eternal morning. I will celebrate with the angels, for I will be at home with you at last. At last. Oh, delightful thought, enraptured thought.  My soul soars in praise of you.

Thank you, my Lord, for your Words that explain everything so clearly. They touch my heart like silk and lighten my day like a thousand suns. They are my daily enchantment and delight. I have pored over them and meditated on them like a thirsty wanderer every day for many years and haven’t tired of them yet. Nor will I ever. Sometimes I come close, but the desire never really goes away. Did you put that longing in my heart? Is it your Spirit embracing mine? I worship you in the splendor of thanksgiving.

Clouds in blue skyCHRISTIANITY OR ISLAM: THE CONTRAST is the result of studying the Qur’an closely.  Though the Qur’an proclaims over and over “Allah is most merciful,” I saw another Allah in other pages.  The first part of the book quotes both the Qur’an and New Testament of the Bible on the same subjects. Most Muslims do not know those passages showing the other side of Islam are in the Quran.  The middle of the Book explains what Muslims are told Christians believe that we really do not believe such as following three gods. The last part of the book is quotes from 100 of my Muslim English/Bible students who have decided Jesus really was the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us. Did Satan make darkness, so you outdid him with light?  Did you make the earth, and was it Satan who brought chaos to it? Did you intercede and bring order and beauty to the world? Did you make Paradise, then Satan tried to ruin it?  Ah-ha! Paradise is now safe in your home. Satan is powerless before you.  He falls into the trap of his own lies and ego.  The Tree of Life is safe in your heaven and all ready for me to come home and enjoy its fruit of eternal life. My God, I cannot begin to express the dazzling enormity of all that is you.

Jesus, my Lord, everything about you is bound together with love. Thank you for creating me so I may love and adore you in return. Thank you for standing back and letting Satan get to me so I may flex my spiritual muscles and become even stronger. Thank you for problems and setbacks and rejections so I may rise above them all with you as my strength. And thank you for my family and health and warmth, food and clothing on this cold winter day.

0-BOOK 7-SHADOW-ChildsCartoonMediumI praise you, my Yahweh, for life and might. And for sight and sound. And for your word and logic. You are my all. Without your tranquility, all that would be left is chaos and disharmony. Without your light and serenity, all that would be left is darkness and agony. Without your dwelling place, all that would be left is hell.  I struggle to know all about you. You are like a magnet, always drawing me to you. Come sweet death ~ death of that which just grows older and weaker anyway. Call me through the mist of my vague speculations. Come rebirth into the rapturous realm of your presence.  How I envy those who have already beheld you and touched your glory. Until then, I willingly submit to your divine majesty until, at last, you fulfill my longing to worship you in celestial fullness.

Thank you, my Lord, for being the God of Love and not allowing the god of hatred to take over.  Sometimes it seems, when the shadows of doubt surround me, he is winning. But when I peer into that unseen world through the portal of your  Word, I know he is already wounded.  When Satan causes people to fight and lie and cheat, they think they are winning.  They are blind. They cannot win.  Refusing to fight, lie, and cheat is true strength and the epitome of power.  Ah, my Lord, I cannot be strong like you. But I thank you for the divine privilege of standing beside you during the battle.  You do not hide, you do not cower, you do not run away.  You do as David did to giant Goliath so long ago.  You run to the enemy and conquer with that powerful amazing love of yours. I am so proud to belong to you.

00- Worship Changes KC COVER-thumbnailAh, my Lord God. I praise your life which is eternal, your logic which is truth, your example which dared to materialize on this temporary earth. You are more powerful than darkness and death, ruin and chaos, apathy and lies. You do, you have, and you will overcome evil. Evil is just a dark shadow against the brilliance of your power of Good.  Evil is confusion and rebellion and egos that try to make themselves higher than you. Your throne will stand forever, your crown rule for eternity, your diadem stand forevermore.

Thank you, Jesus, for taking my place.  Living and being perfect for me because I could not do it. Dying and descending to Satan in my place because I could have never broken out like you did. You, Lord God, did the impossible by overcoming both Death and Evil for me. I am the guilty one. I was being held for ransom by Satan. The only ransom he would accept is the death of God. You gave him what he wanted, then tricked him by coming back to life. Satan may as well have given up then. But he is stubborn and clings to his empty ego. You are more stubborn and cling to your unconquerable love for mankind. I fall at your wounded feet with tears and whisper my feeble Thank You.
