You are the Truth of truths, the Life of lives, the Love of loves.  And you actually love me. You are so large, I can only see a pinpoint of you. You are so minuscule, I can only see a small speck of you. You are everywhere.  I rejoice in the journey, the adventure, the challenge of encountering more and more of you. One small step at a time, I am drawing nearer to you, my God.  Steadily nearer.

I thank you for your Bible. You disclose yourself to me, you pour out your heart with me, you reveal your dreams for me. You share your ups and downs as we love and then turn against you. But most of all, your Bible shows how you have stuck with us even to sending a part of you to live with us, show us what it is like to be sinless, then show us how to die while taking the blame and punishment for our sins. Not only mine but that of the most deviant degenerate sinner. Did that part of you descend to hell for us so you could break out for us? How can I thank you for all this and then writing it down so we can know about it? How I love your Word.  I am so blest.

Road to Heaven-COVER-KINDLE-THUMBNAILI praise you, my God, for your stubborn love, your patient, protective, persistent love. A love that never lets go of me. You are my joy in the morning, my courage during the day, my peace at night. You are the air I breathe, the bread I eat, the songs I hear. My praises fly on expanded wings to you. How I long to be with you in your home someday. It will happen, my Lord. I know it will happen. 

Thank you for going through so much to save me from problems that are my own doing. You straighten out my messes and turn them into butterflies and roses and gentle waters. Thank you for helping me sense the problems of others so I can soothe their aching hearts with a mutual tear, a smile, a happy word, a walk together.

My heart overflows with enraptured gratitude for your Bible so I can know and understand you even with my finite mind. Thank you for materializing your Words and walking among us so we could see your example of stubborn loyalty to truth and love. You never faltered, all the way to suffering in my place and, despite your agony, standing up defiantly to Satan.  The blood ransom you paid Satan to free us:  He didn’t think you would pay it. He underestimated the power of love and divine clemency.  Ah, rapturous thoughts of gratitude.

I adore you, Lord God. You are the Will of the universe, the Voice of the cosmos, the Spirit of the heavens. You provide all my needs. You are my delight now and will be forever. I know someday you will take me home to, not only know you but be with you. What a glorious day it will be. Though others may weep, I will awake in eternal morning. I will celebrate with the angels, for I will be at home with you at last. At last. Oh, delightful thought, enraptured thought.  My soul soars in praise of you.

Thank you, my Lord, for your Words that explain everything so clearly. They touch my heart like silk and lighten my day like a thousand suns. They are my daily enchantment and delight. I have pored over them and meditated on them like a thirsty wanderer every day for many years and haven’t tired of them yet. Nor will I ever. Sometimes I come close, but the desire never really goes away. Did you put that longing in my heart? Is it your Spirit embracing mine? I worship you in the splendor of thanksgiving.

Clouds in blue skyCHRISTIANITY OR ISLAM: THE CONTRAST is the result of studying the Qur’an closely.  Though the Qur’an proclaims over and over “Allah is most merciful,” I saw another Allah in other pages.  The first part of the book quotes both the Qur’an and New Testament of the Bible on the same subjects. Most Muslims do not know those passages showing the other side of Islam are in the Quran.  The middle of the Book explains what Muslims are told Christians believe that we really do not believe such as following three gods. The last part of the book is quotes from 100 of my Muslim English/Bible students who have decided Jesus really was the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us. My God, you are the self-existent one. I am always overwhelmed with awe when I read Isaiah’s prediction that the Child who will be born someday in Bethlehem will be called both Son and Father and mighty God.  The Son is Father of the Child. You begat each other because you are both the First Cause and the material manifestation of yourself. You are self-existent. You are the great I AM. You are from eternity to eternity. You are so far above my understanding, I ache to comprehend the unfathomable intensity of your being.

Your love washes over my soul and makes me feel wanted and protected and special. Ah, my Lord, I am a friend of the King of the universe, the Maker of heaven and earth, the Lover of my heart and soul. Just think! I am not only your friend, but you have made me your Bride. Sometimes you smile at me, sometimes you take my hand and walk through dark shadows with me, sometimes you run with me through meadows of happy deeds as together we reach out to the rest of the world. I am never alone when I am with you. How blissful and beautiful I feel when I think of you, my Lord.

Love Letters of Jesus & his Bride, Eccelsia-THUMBNAILLOVE LETTERS OF JESUS & HIS BRIDE, ECCLESIA is a retelling of the Song of Solomon on his wedding day.  Each chapter becomes a letter to “he” or “she”.  It begins with her conversion (betrothal), goes through all the times they run into the street, “Have you seen my beloved?” because Ecclesia (the church) has wandered away, and ends with the world grabbing her and Jesus calling to her, “I am coming quickly.” The book has 500 footnotes. Was Jesus God-COVER-kindle-thumbnailHow can I praise you enough, Jehovah, my Maker, my Love, my Life?  You are all that I am, all that I need, all that I long for. And to think that, of the thousands praying to you right now, you hear me! Ah, to comprehend you completely. I know it is not possible with my finite mind. I am restless to see you someday in your realm–in the heavenly realm.  Someday I will slip away from earth and, with a whisper and a sigh, I will enter your presence, and understand.  Until then, my soul will praise you.

Jesus, you were God’s presence in the pillar out in the wilderness those forty years long ago. You were in the water of life that flowed from the rock for thirsty nomads. You were in the bread that fell from heaven for your hungry people.  Finally, you were in the body of Jesus, the man. How great you are. Satan’s ego makes him and everything he does ugly.  But you!  The God of Existence lowers himself in earthly forms to help us understand.  Why?  Love!  You are always with me in whatever form I need. I think you are also in the curiosity of a child, the courage of the handicapped, the voice of a singer. In that other realm, you are the sword that overcomes Satan, the truths that expose Satan, the Life and Love that scares Satan silly. You cannot win, Satan! The holy God is stronger and will be victorious over you in the true war of the worlds. I am on his side and will always thank him for fighting you in a way I cannot.  Such love from my Maker.  I thank you for all you do for me, but it is never enough.  Will it ever be?

Did Satan make darkness, so you outdid him with light?  Did you make the earth, and was it Satan who brought chaos to it? Did you intercede and bring order and beauty to the world? Did you make Paradise, then Satan tried to ruin it?  Ah-ha! Paradise is now safe in your home. Satan is powerless before you.  He falls into the trap of his own lies and ego.  The Tree of Life is safe in your heaven and all ready for me to come home and enjoy its fruit of eternal life. My God, I cannot begin to express the dazzling enormity of all that is you.

Jesus, my Lord, everything about you is bound together with love. Thank you for creating me so I may love and adore you in return. Thank you for standing back and letting Satan get to me so I may flex my spiritual muscles and become even stronger. Thank you for problems and setbacks and rejections so I may rise above them all with you as my strength. And thank you for my family and health and warmth, food and clothing on this cold winter day.

Oh, look!  You are leaning low and whispering a song to me. Now you’re lifting me up to you, and…and… you’re showing me your favorite stars. Ah, my Lord…

Thank you, Lord God, for your Bible, for thinking about me all the time, for coming to this world and materializing so we could hear and see you. So much you gave up. Help me understand sacrifice from your example. Such strong love you have for me that you will never let me go. Such tender love you have for me. Without your tranquility, all that would be left is chaos and disharmony. Without your light and serenity, all that would be left is darkness and agony. Without your dwelling place, all that would be left is hell.  I struggle to know all about you. You are like a magnet, always drawing me to you. Come sweet death ~ death of that which just grows older and weaker anyway. Call me through the mist of my vague speculations. Come rebirth into the rapturous realm of your presence.  How I envy those who have already beheld you and touched your glory. Until then, I willingly submit to your divine majesty until, at last, you fulfill my longing to worship you in celestial fullness.

Thank you, my Lord, for being the God of Love and not allowing the god of hatred to take over.  Sometimes it seems, when the shadows of doubt surround me, he is winning. But when I peer into that unseen world through the portal of your  Word, I know he is already wounded.  When Satan causes people to fight and lie and cheat, they think they are winning.  They are blind. They cannot win.  Refusing to fight, lie, and cheat is true strength and the epitome of power.  Ah, my Lord, I cannot be strong like you. But I thank you for the divine privilege of standing beside you during the battle.  You do not hide, you do not cower, you do not run away.  You do as David did to giant Goliath so long ago.  You run to the enemy and conquer with that powerful amazing love of yours. I am so proud to belong to you.

Your words materialize by whatever means you chose ~ in a burning bush, in the form of an angel, in the body of Jesus.  I sit and dream a little about the day I shall see that part of you for myself coming in the clouds. Sometimes I look up in white billowy clouds wondering how it will be. Ah, the wonder of it all. Celebrations and tears, laughter and embraces. I’m on my way home, Lord. I’m on my way home.

Thank you, Lord God, master of my heart, for being the Captain of my Salvation. You give your marching orders and feel my pulse race as I wonder if I will do you proud.
