The scripture for today, March 26 (3/26), is Galatians 3:26f as found in the New Testament of the Bible:
“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ because all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
The Muslim religion teaches that God is too far above humans to have such a relationship ~ you know, the parent-child kind, a family relationship. They are taught God created humans to have someone to worship him and be his slaves. Oh, how much they are missing. And the rest of the world too.
Our Bible says God created humans to have someone to love. He wants to be more than a distant God; he wants to be our heavenly Father. So, when we come out of the waters of baptism, it is like coming out of a watery womb; Romans 6:4-5 says we are then born into a new spiritual life.
Everyone in the Christian world knows that baptism is in the Bible. Today’s scripture explains, “…because you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ,” and therefore, we have become sons with Christ ~ adopted sons. (See also Ephesians 1:5). Ah, how wonderful!
No need to be spiritually blind and poor and naked (Revelation 3:17). You can gain spiritual insight, be rich in grace, and be clothed with Christ.
No need to be spiritually orphaned ~ you can become a child of God. He holds out holy arms to you. He wants to embrace you and hold you close as you finish this life on earth.
No need to be spiritually homeless. Wonder of wonders, the Creator of the universe wants to take you home with him.

The scripture for today, March 25 (3/25), is Lamentations 3:25 as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.”
That’s all? Just hope? I don’t have to have a deep, deep faith for God to be good to me? All I have to do is hope he exists? Hope he loves everyone. Hope he loves me?
Were you raised by atheists, or did you attend a university where professors criticize theists (believers in God)? Have you been told deity is just the essence of the universe with no personality? Are you confused by it all? You can still hope there is only the One God who does exist, has personality, knows your name, and loves you.
Have you had a major tragedy in your life and can’t understand how a good God could allow that bad thing to happen (heaven on earth)? Do you live among people who believe all the gods in the world are the One God, so don’t pay special attention to any of them?
Amidst such confusion, is it hard for you to sort it all out and have faith in the One God of the Bible? What is faith anyway? It is the evidence of what you hope for. If you cannot go so far as to say you have a deep faith in the One God, you can still hope! Keep that hope alive. Let the Lord be good to you.

Ah, my Lord God, you are the highest and greatest above all others. You are the epitome, the mountain peak, the inner depths of all. You are so much more powerful than Satan. May you be now and forever. You alone are worthy of the world’s honor. You alone are true glory ~ on earth and in heaven. You alone are my Maker, my Sustainer, my Savior. The stars race through the firmament to be the first to magnify you. The oceans soar to the depths to be the mightiest to magnify you. The new-born baby basks in the memory of seeing you face to face and being rocked by you in the cradle of a womb. All things praise you. And I cannot wait to do so again tomorrow.
Help me, Lord, to find a balance. Help me not be judgmental and just not have an opinion as though nothing truly matters. Forgive me when I say anything that is hurtful. Help me compliment instead of complain. Help me be more like you.
I thank you, Jesus, for materializing and doing all you did to save me from my deserved punishment for my sins. You did not have to leave the comforts of your home to live in a dirty, smelly world. You didn’t have to give up being everywhere at once to be confined to a body. You didn’t have to jeopardize yourself on the cross. But you did. Such love. The agony and anguish you experienced in my place. Such love. I am not worthy. But you could not let me go. Oh, heart of my heart.

I lift up my praises to you, God of the universe. They swirl around the universe and finally to your throne. You are all might and power and everything good. You are right and just tempered with unimaginable mercy. You alone are God. I will serve you all the days of my life. Take me to your home soon, though. How much longer will it be? A year? Ten years? Twenty? How long? Take me to your home and I will serve you there forever.
When I fear what people can do to me, I allow them to harm me a thousand times over in my mind. I allow them to overcome me. Make me overcome my haunting fears. Help me love everyone instead, no matter how unloving, spiteful and hateful they are. Their lives must be so tortured. Make me overcoming all that in their lives with love because, as you said, “perfect love casts out fear.”
Ah, my Lord God, in deep gratitude that pierces my soul, I thank you for forgiving my many sins. I sin against you daily with bad attitudes that creep in. I am so ashamed and so weak. You forgive me anyway and I am not worthy of this. I fall at your feet and perpetually I whisper thank you.

The scripture for today, March 22 (3/22), is Lamentations 3:22 as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:
“Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.”
Jeremiah had spent years warning people of the coming destruction of their country and beloved Jerusalem due to their selfish, sinful life and taking advantage of each other. He endured taunts, reprimands, imprisonments, and threats to his life. Now it has happened. All hope is gone. Nothing left but ashes.
There were innocent people who suffered as a result. Would those innocents let Satan get his way and destroy their lives, their spirits, their souls too? It is at this point that lamenting Jeremiah utters bravely amidst his own tears, “We are not consumed.”
Are there things going on your life that seem to be consuming you? Do you feel utterly hopeless? Do you feel as though life may not worth living anymore? Look up. God is still there. He still loves you.
When you acknowledge the love of God, you have the courage to take the next step and the next and the next. You have the courage to keep walking and walking and to hold your head high. Nothing and nobody can ever take away the love God has for you. With his love, you can never be consumed.

I’ve decided next year to tell you little TIDBITS about my life each day for the year. It’s a challenge ~ thinking of that many events and not be boring or…. But I’m working on it. So far I have thought of about 80. Keeping a list and checking it twice, and thrice, and…. It’s scary revealing so much of myself to the outside world — the good, the bad, and all the crazies and stupids and sillies and marvelous things I have thought and done.
God of heaven and earth, you are far above anything and anyone else. You are our Creator. You are perfection. I am so far below you in all things. But you are the lover of my soul, my protector, my comforter, my betrothed. Thank you. You deserve all earth’s praise and honor and glory. All heaven praises you and I adore you.
Lord, I have been neglecting the lost. Why do I do that? Help me be alone with them and ask them about their relationship with God. Instead, I surround myself with my Christian friends. I need them, but the lost need me more. Forgive me when I become too comfortable. Oh, Lord, give me souls or else I die.
Thank you, God of my heart and soul, for loving me so. You stopped at nothing to save me, despite my rebellious ego that does sinful things you say will hurt me. You are so good, and though I offend you every day, you keep coming back and loving me all the more. No human is able to forgive as often as you do ~ hundreds of times just in one year and sometimes in one month. How can I truly thank you? I fall at your feet unworthy and worship you.

The scripture for today, March 20 (3/20), is Revelation 3:20 as found in the New Testament of the Bible:
”Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”
A couple days ago, we read how the love of Christ is everywhere. But he will not force himself on you. He calls to you and knocks on the door of your heart and mind.
If you have too much noise going on in your life ~ coming and going to work, coming and going to clubs, coming and going to education and training, athletics and hobbies, you cannot hear him. If the radio and television and i-phone and computer and movies and music are blaring all the time with no silence, you cannot hear him.
Stop what you are doing right now. If there is any background noise, turn it off. Sit in silence a moment. Read a scripture about the life of Christ (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) if you have a Bible, and let him knock on the door of your heart. In such silence, you will be able to hear him.
He’s calling you! Do you hear him? Hurry. Open your door.

Ah, Lord God, you are the lover and master of my soul. My spirit touches yours and we sing and cry together, work and rest together, travel through meadows and up rugged mountains together. You are my life now and in eternity. You are my betrothed and oh, how I love you. I adore you as a bride adores her groom. I long for the day of our wedding feast when we become one. Such a life you have in store for me! I do not comprehend it. I cannot comprehend it. But life with you, my Lord, will be heaven.
Thank you, God, for providing the Bible so I do not have to guess what works and what does not work. So, I can understand your ways and Satan’s ways. You are the most mighty, the all mighty. Satan does not have a chance! He thinks he is winning, but he is not. He may win a few battles, but you will win the war. Thank you for the opportunity to stand with you despite opposition. Thank you for the opportunity to be defamed because of you, gossiped about, pushed around, and look like a loser because of you. When I am weakest, that is when I am strongest, for my strength then is your strength.
