Things in the Bible not really in the Bible ...and a few surprises
Surprise of the Day
It took courage for Joseph of Arimathea to ask for Jesus’ body. He sacrificed everything he was and had to do it.

Fact of the Day
Joseph had to break one of the Jewish laws of never entering the home of a Gentile. Prefect Pilate was a Gentile. As a member of the Jewish governing Sanhedrin, he would have been “disbarred” from the council by the leading Jews and likely excommunicated from his local synagogue.
And perhaps he even used up his savings to pay for that 75 pounds of spices (about $250,000 worth) to wrap around Jesus’ body at his tomb. He gave Jesus the burial of a king.
