Wonder of wonders!

The scripture for today, March 26 (3/26), is Galatians 3:26f as found in the New Testament of the Bible:

Clouds in blue sky“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ because all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”

The Muslim religion teaches that God is too far above humans to have such a relationship ~ you know, the parent-child kind, a family relationship. They are taught God created humans to have someone to worship him and be his slaves. Oh, how much they are missing.  And the rest of the world too.

Our Bible says God created humans to have someone to love. He wants to be more than a distant God; he wants to be our heavenly Father. So, when we come out of the waters of baptism, it is like coming out of a watery womb; Romans 6:4-5 says we are then born into a new spiritual life.

Everyone in the Christian world knows that baptism is in the Bible. Today’s scripture explains, “…because you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ,” and therefore, we have become sons with Christ ~ adopted sons. (See also Ephesians 1:5). Ah, how wonderful!

No need to be spiritually blind and poor and naked (Revelation 3:17).  You can gain spiritual insight, be rich in grace, and be clothed with Christ.

No need to be spiritually orphaned ~ you can become a child of God. He holds out holy arms to you. He wants to embrace you and hold you close as you finish this life on earth.

No need to be spiritually homeless.  Wonder of wonders, the Creator of the universe wants to take you home with him.

Even in winter, you are the sunshine of my soul

Ah, my Lord God, what a wonderous artist you are. You delight my senses with the gentle touch of a snow 0-Joseph-Cover-Kindle-Mediumflake and the crunch of my feet as I walk among your whited wonder. The wind is cold, but inside I am warm. Oh, look at that Woodpecker. How much fun he is having with that tree. And that squirrel scampering across the snow with something in its mouth; I’ll bet it’s some morsel it buried during the fall.  Oh, my, that child has made snow angels, and those children over there are making snowmen. How beautiful and enchanting you made everything on earth, my home.

Father, how can you forgive me for doing the same wrong thing over and over? How can you forgive me for leaving undone the good things I need to get out there and do? Help me forgive others in the same way I need you to forgive me.

Thank you, dear Lord, for loving me with a love so powerful, nothing holds it back. When I sin, you ache, then call me to you. When I ~ with your help ~ convince someone to become a Christian and saved from Satan, you notify the angels, and we all rejoice together. When I feel lonely, all I have to do is call one of the many friends you have given me. Oh, and thank you for children who remind me of innocent wonder. Even in winter, you are the sunshine of my soul.

0-Joseph-Cover-ThumbnailJOSEPH: THE OTHER FATHER was selected to raise the Son of God.  The responsibility! How was he supposed to keep the child safe in a violent world, even on the highways where skirmishes occurred?  And up in the mountains cutting lumber where bears and lions wandered? And in foreign Egypt where there were pockets of Jews willing to take bribes for information about him? And in his own town where his uncaring children called him bastard and their fathers called his father a fool for marrying a woman already pregnant by someone else?  To READ NOW, click a book cover or paste this:  https://bit.ly/30FFlbC

Book 5 ~ Joseph: The Other Father

Hold fast. Stand Firm. Do the right thing.

The scripture for today, January 12 (1/12), is James 1:12 as found in the New Testament of the Bible:

0-Joseph-Cover-Kindle-Medium“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

How loyal are you to God? Is your relationship up and down, depending on how your life is going at the moment? If you pray for something and don’t get it, do you feel as though God is punishing you?  If everything seems to be going wrong, do you blame God instead of Satan? Do you pray over and over for God to relieve you of a particular burden, but relief hasn’t come so you’ve decided to quit the church?

Quit grumbling! God has assignments for you. What kind of soldier of the Lord are you? Do you tell the general you don’t like what he has assigned for you to do? Where you are today is where God wants you. Your job is to stay loyal no matter how difficult things get.  Be brave. Hold fast. Stand your ground.

Why? To prove that love is stronger than hatred. To prove that good is stronger than bad. To prove that right is more mighty than wrong. To prove that God is stronger than Satan. Ephesians 6:12 says Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Determine today to thank God for whatever state you are in, even if you do it in tears because it goes against all your emotions. And, even though you may feel helpless to do anything about it right now, in your helplessness, persevere!

To open up the scriptures to him? To defend him when neighbors called Mary names and Jesus a bastard? To rescue him from bears in the forest while cutting lumber? To watch him and wonder if and when he knew who he was?  And when he felt out of control, did he cry to the other Father, “God!  Help me protect our Son!”  Read this biblical historical novel of how it might have been.  To BUY NOW, click a book cover, or paste this:  https://bit.ly/30FFlbC

Scripture for Sunday, March 9 (3/9

The scripture for today, April 9, is 1st John 4:9f as found in the New Testament of the Bible:

0-BK 7-ShadowOfDeath-Cover-new-Medium“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: Not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

We human do not have the will to live perfect lives. We give in to sins of attitude, action, and inaction. We can never get it right. Romans 6:23 says the wages we earn by sinning is death. In the Old Testament era, God let people kill an animal in their place whenever they sinned, but it had to be done over and over. Then God put a stop to that by sending his Son to us for awhile with a body, so his Son’s body could be killed (collecting our wages) in our place.

Finally, God invited mankind to “live through him” ~ that is, become Christ-ians. How do we become alive through Jesus? Of course, we know about believing Jesus was the Son of God and repenting of our sins. Also, Romans 6:4 says when we are baptized, we begin to live a new life, we are born again.

But it does not stop there. We must try the best we can to live as Jesus lived, speak as Jesus spoke, love as Jesus loved. We are not saved by good works because we are still sinners, but we do demonstrate our love of God by good works (James 2). With Jesus living in us, we are his mouth, his hands, his feet. It is then that we offer our own bodies as daily sacrifices (Romans 12:1).

The scripture for today, May 2, is Micah 5:2 as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

Life-Changing-Scriptures-Cover-medium“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

This amazing scripture prophecies where the “ruler…from ancient times” will be born. It gives the exact city Jesus (who had been in heaven before his human birth) would be born in, written seven centuries before his birth.

The Bible is the only religious book in the world with built-in proofs that it is of divine origin. Prophecies of many events in the life of Christ flow throughout the Old Testament. He wasn’t just a prophet, he wasn’t just a good man, he wasn’t a fraud.

Thank God, He thought of everything to help us believe Jesus was, indeed, the Son of God!

The scripture for today, May 9 (5/9), is Matthew 5:9 as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.”

Jesus, the only begotten Son of God (Christians are adopted sons) was a peacemaker.  He came to earth to help us make peace with God.  After all, “all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God” (Romans 3:23).  It only takes one sin to be a sinner.  And God cannot dwell with sin.  What was the solution?

Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death.  In Old Testament times, God let people kill a perfect animal in their place.  But they kept having to do it.  Finally, Jesus came to earth and lived that perfect life that is impossible for us to live ~ the perfect lamb of God ~ then he allowed himself to take our punishment for our (not his) sins and be killed in our place.  His was the final sacrifice.  Now, by following Jesus, God adopts us and makes us his children.  Jesus was a peacemaker between God and man.

You, too, can be a peacemaker.  You can help people be at peace with themselves.  You can help them be at peace with each other.  And you can help them be at peace with God.  Thereby, you can share in what God’s begotten Son was ~ a peacemaker.
