Comfort and color and all in between

02-Noah-KindleMediumYou are my comfort, my shield, my protection. When in danger, you send your angels to stand between harm and me. When I weep, you wipe away my tears.  When I laugh, you laugh with me. When I am sick, you hold me in your arms.  When I walk bare footed, you place my feet on delicate sprigs blades of grass that tickle my toes. When I am tired, you carry me. Though you are far away in your realm, you are in my thoughts, my words, my heart.  You hear my thoughts spin, my words tumble out, and my heart beat.  I praise you for all that you are. I long to understand more.

I thank you for the rainbows.  You must love color. You made so many things with colors of rainbows in them ~ flowers, fruit, vegetables, gemstones, birds. I do love color, just like you do. When my eyes absorb all the color around me, they dance and flutter.  Color fills my heart with joy. You even made the foundations of heaven many-colored gemstones.  You have a red glow over your throne and an emerald green bow above that. I am so glad you love color too. Thank you and help me to not ever take it for granted.

02-Noah-KindleThumbnailA CHILD’S BIBLE HEROES:  NOAHWhile Noah was growing up, most of the other children did not like him because he wouldn’t break the rules with them. He wouldn’t when grown either. One day, God told Noah water was going to come out of the sky, so he needed to build a boat.  It had never rained before and everyone made fun of him.  “Think & Do” at the end of each chapter.  Can be understood from age 3.  Hyphens in long words help early readers.  To BUY NOW, click a book cove or paste this:  https://bit.ly/ChildsNoah

Scripture for Wednesday, May 17 (5/17)

The scripture for today, May 17 (5/17) is John 5:17 as found in the New Testament of the Bible:

FunWithBibleNumbers-Cover-Kindle“Jesus said to them, ‘My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.’ “

There are places in the Psalms that say God is thinking about us all the time. When we’re walking, riding, talking, doing, coming, going.

God is always working for us. A popular song a few years ago was, “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands.”

But does he always keep us from harm? He gave us free will, and sometimes we don’t make good choices. Others around us have free will, and they sometimes don’t make good choices. Still God is there beside us if we fall, always holding out his hand to lift us up.

God is our Creator.  Jesus ~ the Words of God ~ was the Creator too (John 1:1-2). We are the work of his “hands.” How he loves us and cherishes us and cares for us, always to this very day.

Scripture for Friday, March 10 (3/10)

The scripture for today, March 10, is Colossians 3:10 as found in the New Testament of the Bible:

Life-Changing-Scriptures-Cover-medium“And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”

Did you ever make something with your hands and were so proud of it that you would stop at nothing to take care of it and make sure that it lasted forever? You were its creator and it was, in a sense, a part of you.

Do you resist knowing the Bible because you think of it as being full of rules from a God who doesn’t really like you and is just giving you a hard time so you can’t have any fun?

Think again. It is from your Creator. He loved you enough to make you, and you are a part of him. Now he wants to take care of you so that you can last forever.

Scripture for Friday, March 3 (3/3)

campbell-cover-kindle-lg-mediumThe scripture for today, March 3, is Genesis 3:3 as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

” ‘But God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it or you will die.’ “

This is a conversation Eve is having with Satan in the Garden of Eden. She was a little put out by God that he would withhold even one item from her. So, she misrepresented God. What God actually said was….

“You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” Eve had added to what God had said: “You must not touch it.”

Do we do that? When we get put out by someone, do we embellish a little and add a few little things to an event in order to make the other person look worse than s/he really is? Are we in the habit of making ourselves a victim so we can get other people’s sympathy and maybe get other people to act on our behalf?

1st Corinthians 13:5 says love does not keep a record of wrongs. If you have a feud going with someone, try breaking the cycle 1st Corinthians 13:7 says love protects, always trusts, always hopes. Bring hope back. Then keep hope alive.

Scripture for Sunday, July 10 (7/10)

The scripture for today, July 10, is Psalm 7:10 as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

0-Luke-Slave&Physician KINDLE Cover“My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.”

We wouldn’t need a shield if everything on earth was good. But God gave us free will to love him or not, to follow him or not. He did not want robots to love and follow him, for that is not true love or true commitment.

And so each of us has an assignment in life: To bloom where we are planted. To be strong in the Lord when others want to tear us away from him. To be an example. And when sometimes things get too difficult for us (and they do from time to time), God stands ready to shield us while we rest.

He loves us so.
