Things in the Bible not really in the Bible...and a few surprises
Oops of the Day
In the Aaronic Blessing – “The Lord bless you and keep you,” – it means “may God provide you with many blessings and keep you by his side.”
Numbers 6:24
Fact of the Day
No! The word “bless” in Hebrew is not to provide things for someone. It means to bow down or kneel down.
So, this blessing is saying, “MAY THE LORD KNEEL DOWN TO YOU!” You may object that we kneel down to God, he does not kneel down to us. But think again. Our loving Father in heaven sometimes kneels down to be eye level with his child – as any good parent would do- and promises to protect that child. That child is us!
