You said, “Just try it and I’ll destroy your destructions.”  You are so strong. You destroy darkness with light. You destroy evil with good. You destroy nothingness with creativeness.  You destroy death with life. Such a warrior. Nothing stops you!

It is morning.  The night dew has fallen and cleansed your world. Fresh. Newborn. Full of exciting unknowns for the rest of the day. Ups and downs like a bird hopping on the snow.  What shall today bring?  You are the God of second chances. Of starting over. Of being reborn. Yes, come sweet morning. Oh, and thank you for the church, my family, the Bible, friends, Christian radio and TV and films and music. And yes, the songs. The wonderful, glorious songs too. I am so happy there will be singing in heaven. Somewhere in your Word, you admitted you sing.  Oh, glorious thought. Powerful anthems and gentle strains. Thank you for all this and for you being you ~ my loving God.

Thank you for being my Warrior King and conqueror of Satan. Thank you for attacking Satan in that hidden realm where I cannot go and driving him away from me. For fighting so many of my battles for me. For standing over me protectively and being strong for me when I am weak. I cannot imagine life without you. Thank you for my loving spouse, the church, the Bible, and your amazing grace.

00-PAUL COVER-Thumbnail-I praise you all mighty God. Oh, how you have spoiled me. You placed diamonds in mountain-top snow, rubies in the flowers, emeralds in the meadows, and delight in the birds that daily sing to me. As I climb the mountain of my life I think back of all the enormous opportunities I had as a youth. As I grow older and climb higher, my choices are narrowing and I am glad. My focus is more and more on you. Someday I will reach the mountain top, and you will be there. You will smile and say, “Welcome home.”

Ah, thank you, my Lord, for all you have done for us through the history of mankind. I, along with everyone else, travel a wilderness, often not making good choices. The frustrations you must feel when I don’t pay attention to you but they do not stop you from loving me. You have been too patient. But you also give me your Word map in my wilderness to show me just where I am. And give me work to do in order to make sense of life. Thank you for entrusting me with that work. I will do the best I know how. I know you smile and reply, “That’s all I ask: Do your very best.” I will always thank you for this.

Was Jesus God-COVER-kindle-thumbnailHow can I praise you enough, Jehovah, my Maker, my Love, my Life?  You are all that I am, all that I need, all that I long for. And to think that, of the thousands praying to you right now, you hear me! Ah, to comprehend you completely. I know it is not possible with my finite mind. I am restless to see you someday in your realm–in the heavenly realm.  Someday I will slip away from earth and, with a whisper and a sigh, I will enter your presence, and understand.  Until then, my soul will praise you.

Jesus, you were God’s presence in the pillar out in the wilderness those forty years long ago. You were in the water of life that flowed from the rock for thirsty nomads. You were in the bread that fell from heaven for your hungry people.  Finally, you were in the body of Jesus, the man. How great you are. Satan’s ego makes him and everything he does ugly.  But you!  The God of Existence lowers himself in earthly forms to help us understand.  Why?  Love!  You are always with me in whatever form I need. I think you are also in the curiosity of a child, the courage of the handicapped, the voice of a singer. In that other realm, you are the sword that overcomes Satan, the truths that expose Satan, the Life and Love that scares Satan silly. You cannot win, Satan! The holy God is stronger and will be victorious over you in the true war of the worlds. I am on his side and will always thank him for fighting you in a way I cannot.  Such love from my Maker.  I thank you for all you do for me, but it is never enough.  Will it ever be?

Without your tranquility, all that would be left is chaos and disharmony. Without your light and serenity, all that would be left is darkness and agony. Without your dwelling place, all that would be left is hell.  I struggle to know all about you. You are like a magnet, always drawing me to you. Come sweet death ~ death of that which just grows older and weaker anyway. Call me through the mist of my vague speculations. Come rebirth into the rapturous realm of your presence.  How I envy those who have already beheld you and touched your glory. Until then, I willingly submit to your divine majesty until, at last, you fulfill my longing to worship you in celestial fullness.

Thank you, my Lord, for being the God of Love and not allowing the god of hatred to take over.  Sometimes it seems, when the shadows of doubt surround me, he is winning. But when I peer into that unseen world through the portal of your  Word, I know he is already wounded.  When Satan causes people to fight and lie and cheat, they think they are winning.  They are blind. They cannot win.  Refusing to fight, lie, and cheat is true strength and the epitome of power.  Ah, my Lord, I cannot be strong like you. But I thank you for the divine privilege of standing beside you during the battle.  You do not hide, you do not cower, you do not run away.  You do as David did to giant Goliath so long ago.  You run to the enemy and conquer with that powerful amazing love of yours. I am so proud to belong to you.

Your words materialize by whatever means you chose ~ in a burning bush, in the form of an angel, in the body of Jesus.  I sit and dream a little about the day I shall see that part of you for myself coming in the clouds. 00- Worship Changes KC COVER-thumbnailAh, my Lord God. I praise your life which is eternal, your logic which is truth, your example which dared to materialize on this temporary earth. You are more powerful than darkness and death, ruin and chaos, apathy and lies. You do, you have, and you will overcome evil. Evil is just a dark shadow against the brilliance of your power of Good.  Evil is confusion and rebellion and egos that try to make themselves higher than you. Your throne will stand forever, your crown rule for eternity, your diadem stand forevermore.

Thank you, Jesus, for taking my place.  Living and being perfect for me because I could not do it. Dying and descending to Satan in my place because I could have never broken out like you did. You, Lord God, did the impossible by overcoming both Death and Evil for me. I am the guilty one. I was being held for ransom by Satan. The only ransom he would accept is the death of God. You gave him what he wanted, then tricked him by coming back to life. Satan may as well have given up then. But he is stubborn and clings to his empty ego. You are more stubborn and cling to your unconquerable love for mankind. I fall at your wounded feet with tears and whisper my feeble Thank You.

You have and are all I need to survive and thrive in this world where Satan is gradually losing his claim to be the ruler. Oh, I know Christians everywhere are lamenting the growing disinterest in and even animosity toward you. But it is not true. You have thousands of thousands in hiding where Christianity is illegal who have not bowed down to the gods of self and fake religions.  Your church will never die, regardless of how often it is attacked and neglected.  Your church will only grow stronger.  I stand with them drawn to you like a magnet. You are the All Mighty.  Just as you will never die, your Bride will never die.  All praise belongs to you, all honor, glory, and adoration. I, in the strength of your ethereal love, fall at your feet and worship you.

Ah, how I thank you, God, for your Bible and pouring out your heart in it. Sharing all the pain you felt through the ages when your loved ones sinned, keeping faith in them anyway, and feeling joy when they stood up for right and returned to you. How you love me, your child, and set me on your knee so you can tell me the stories of long ago as warnings and encouragements to me today. As I read, I can imagine you smiling and nodding and whispering, “Keep reading, my child. There’s more. I put it in there just for you.”

You continue to struggle with me to help me win over Satan and Death. Win to live and love forever. When I am too weak, you fight for me. I cling to you. I fall at your feet unworthy.  I sin but you forgive me anyway. I sin and you save me from punishment. Ah, Lord of my soul, whatever blessing you have crowned me with, I return that crown to you. Only you, my Shepherd-King, deserve the crown.

Thank you, my Eldeah, God of Knowledge, for your fascinating Word. It fills my struggling soul with words to live by, act by, and love by. I learn something new and exciting nearly every day.  It titillates my imagination with new truths. How can that be?  I’ve been reading it many years. I suppose ~ I know ~ that, if I could understand it all, I would be God. Each spiritual meal I have with the bread of your Word gives me strength to keep living, victorious over Satan in this world he only thinks he controls. Ah, majestic voice of wisdom, my heart overflows.

You hate it when I self-destruct by obeying Satan instead. That is what your rules are ~ safety rules. My Maker knows what will make me happy more than anyone. The advice of anyone else is counterfeit. You want for me real life, both now and in the misty but glorious forever. I bow my head to you, fall at your feet, and praise you for being Love and pouring it out to me with such intensity.
