I cannot keep my thoughts very far from you.  You lift my weary soul and soar with me through the universe and back. You are the life of my body and spirit. You are the love of my being. Your words are absorbed in my heart and treasured in my soul. I sigh with wonder, for the psalmist said you think about me all the time.  Me among untold millions?  How can that be?  Because you are everywhere just as you are in my heart, I am in yours and you are Love.

Thank you, God, for the little birds I see outside my window each morning. There they are, ready to greet me. And the sun. Each morning it rises just to say, “I’m back. Didn’t I promise you I would be?”. The darkness is good because it makes me rest. But how I love the morning and the world waking up with it. And thank you for pouring your heart out to the world in your Bible. Now I can know you and have no doubts. How many in this world are willing to pour out their heart to others as you did?

02-Noah-KindleThumbnailI praise and adore you, God of all heaven and earth and all existence. You are greater than death, for you are the life-giver. They couldn’t kill you.  They thought they did; but you were just resting for those three days.  Then you tricked them.  You are Life. Life is stronger than death. You are a user.  You turn death into the glorious doorway to life more glorious than imagination. You are Life. You will be there when I die, welcoming me into a realm of joy and beauty and peace that I cannot even begin to imagine. Life here is like living in a cave compared with heaven or being blind and trying to understand color. How I long to leave this cave and to open my blind eyes. How I long to be in your world and before your throne.  I think when I get there, I shall try to sing to you louder than anyone else. Would that be a sin, Lord?

Thank you, God, for being close to me in prayer. No other god has done that. No other god loves because no other god exists. Those so-called gods stay at a distance from mankind with no love, but only instilling fear. You are my Maker and the Lover of my soul. Thank you for your Words in flesh and the pain you willingly endured in my place for my sin. How could you have done it?  Well, it is morning again. Morning when I can greet the day you brought me. Morning when I can once again greet you, though in my sleep, I know you never left me. Morning when I can face my griefs and pain and let you smile and lift my burden so I can walk free, knowing you have everything under control.  With you, it is always morning.

And for your Spirit that animates my soul and keeps me eternally alive, making me your forever child.  And for your Son,  ~ you in flesh ~ who came to me out of eternity to show me how to live.  Speaking holy Words aloud ~ Words ethereal. Words wonderful. Words down to earth so I do not need to guess who and what you are. I long to know you more, but with my finite mind, I cannot. I live in wonder of you and worship you with my puny glimpse of your indescribable holiness.

Thank you, my God, for giving me your love letter, the Bible, and telling me all that you are constantly doing ~ both the easy and the hard. Thank you for pouring your heart out to me with all the laughter and tears that flow from you to the world. For sharing yourself. For baring your own joys and sorrows as I do right and wrong.  I never tire of your letter.  Thank you for giving yourself. And, by the way, Lord, thank you for books and computers and radios and all things electronic, and time to use them to magnify you to the world.

My God, you are the self-existent one. I am always overwhelmed with awe when I read Isaiah’s prediction that the Child who will be born someday in Bethlehem will be called both Son and Father and mighty God.  The Son is Father of the Child. You begat each other because you are both the First Cause and the material manifestation of yourself. You are self-existent. You are the great I AM. You are from eternity to eternity. You are so far above my understanding, I ache to comprehend the unfathomable intensity of your being.

Your love washes over my soul and makes me feel wanted and protected and special. Ah, my Lord, I am a friend of the King of the universe, the Maker of heaven and earth, the Lover of my heart and soul. Just think! I am not only your friend, but you have made me your Bride. Sometimes you smile at me, sometimes you take my hand and walk through dark shadows with me, sometimes you run with me through meadows of happy deeds as together we reach out to the rest of the world. I am never alone when I am with you. How blissful and beautiful I feel when I think of you, my Lord.

I am giddy with excitement over you.  How you love me! Growing weak at the thought, I sink to my knees in adoration.  I know I am not worthy of your immeasurable kindness. Oh, look!  You are leaning low and whispering a song to me. Now you’re lifting me up to you, and…and… you’re showing me your favorite stars. Ah, my Lord…

Thank you, Lord God, for your Bible, for thinking about me all the time, for coming to this world and materializing so we could hear and see you. So much you gave up. Help me understand sacrifice from your example. Such strong love you have for me that you will never let me go. Such tender love you have for me. Someday you will end all suffering and take me home to rest with you. How can I begin to thank you? My soul soars at the thought.

I will spend my days searching your Word to follow you closer and know you better. When I read your words, I am filled with awe and wonder. You thought of everything to include in it for me. Some is advice, but most are examples of others who rose or fell and why they did. Ah, Lord God, you are the ultimate example of rising and never falling. You are what I strive to be. I will never rise that high, I know this. So, I will continue to worship you. Now. Forever.

Thank you, Jesus, for being my Passover Lamb. You died so I wouldn’t have to. Now, every Sunday I eat the symbol of your body and think of the sins ~ my sins ~ that caused all your mental and physical anguish. I take a sip of the symbol of your blood.  How could I ever take your precious blood for granted? The cup ~ your blood drained from your body ~ was all for me. All for me!  I fall at your feet and wash them with the tears of my remorse and wipe those tears away as you did my sins. You are my hero.

You are most powerful and commanding, most radiant and glorious, most intelligent and logical. You are the only giver of life. You are the conqueror of nothingness and chaos, death and fear, grief and unhappiness. Nothing can change you. Every day Satan tries, but he cannot win. His ego is so large, he really thinks he can overpower you, but it is an empty, selfish and hollow dream. Ah, my Lord God, I will always be yours.

Thank you for your Plan for mankind. You did not make us and then forget us. How many so-called gods of the world did just that?  They have no personality, or they do but are wrapped up in human-like squabbling with other gods. How foolish to believe in them. You think about us all the time and provide your Bible so we will understand the way to escape Satan’s traps and run to your protective arms in heaven.  You love me as a strong and tender Father.  How unfathomably amazing! The Creator of all things loves me! How can I thank you?

You have and are all I need to survive and thrive in this world where Satan is gradually losing his claim to be the ruler. Oh, I know Christians everywhere are lamenting the growing disinterest in and even animosity toward you. But it is not true. You have thousands of thousands in hiding where Christianity is illegal who have not bowed down to the gods of self and fake religions.  Your church will never die, regardless of how often it is attacked and neglected.  Your church will only grow stronger.  I stand with them drawn to you like a magnet. You are the All Mighty.  Just as you will never die, your Bride will never die.  All praise belongs to you, all honor, glory, and adoration. I, in the strength of your ethereal love, fall at your feet and worship you.

Ah, how I thank you, God, for your Bible and pouring out your heart in it. Sharing all the pain you felt through the ages when your loved ones sinned, keeping faith in them anyway, and feeling joy when they stood up for right and returned to you. How you love me, your child, and set me on your knee so you can tell me the stories of long ago as warnings and encouragements to me today. As I read, I can imagine you smiling and nodding and whispering, “Keep reading, my child. There’s more. I put it in there just for you.”

It is order and harmony, peace and tranquility, it is the ultimate truth. There it is just waiting for me to discover its treasures. When I read, it is as though I am in a dazzling mist and seeing you afar. Thank you for your Bible, your heart.
