Survey of Old Testament II & How it Relates to the New Testament

Book I of this Old Testament survey began with Adam and Eve and worked its way through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants becoming slaves for 400 years, then forming into the Jewish nation. Ruled another 400 years by judges, these former slaves were never satisfied. They demanded a king.

This is where Book II picks up. ……… You will learn the quirks and qualms of the first three and greatest kings — Saul, David, and Solomon. Then it is downhill from then on. ………. Civil War, sacrificing their children in the fires of fake gods. ……….Frustrated prophets literally die trying. The Jews are taken from their homeland as slaves ……….More intrigue as people adjust to slave life. High on the list is Daniel and Queen Esther. ……….Finally their release. They are given a second chance……….. Return home. Start over. Behave……….. And along the way the prophets predict a divine king. People want that divine king but only on their terms.

And it is into this world that book 3 will begin – the life of Jesus Christ.
