Fact Of the Day 

No! The boy Samuel slept in the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle.  God gave a prophecy to Samuel while he slept there.  God makes the rules and God can break them.

Fact Of the Day 

When Samuel’s barren future mother, Hannah, prayed for a son, she made a vow and “sang” [Hebrew] it to the Lord (as did David later on).  Samuel’s son, Joel, was rebellious, but Joel’s son was a good priest.  One of Samuel’s grandsons was “Heman the singer” in Temple worship, as were all his musical descendants after that.

Fact Of the Day 

No! The pagan prophet Balaam made beautiful prophecies about the Israelites and Jesus, a savior who would come 2000 years later. But, in Revelation, the last book of the Bible, it says he turned right around and enticed those same Israelites to sin by eating food offered to idols and worshiping with prostitute temple priestesses in Moab (today’s Jordan).

Fact Of the Day 

This is the mountain to which Deborah, prophetess and fourth judge of the new Israelite nation, was told by God to lead her army so God could destroy the giant Canaanites there. When the Canaanites arrived, God caused a wadi to flood and wash their chariots and army away.

Some eleven centuries later, carpenters briefly became lumber jacks and went to this mountain to cut down trees and replenish their supply of lumber.  Nazareth was in the foothill of Mount Tabor.  One of those lumber jack carpenters was undoubtedly Jesus in his teens and twenties.

  • God told Abraham he would make a great nation of them, but first they will be slaves for 400 years.in a foreign land because the sins of the Amorites (Canaanites) had not reached its peak and would need punishing. After the Jews finally entered Abraham’s promised land after their 400 years of slavery, this is what happened over the next 400 years because they kept adopting the religions of their pagan neighbors who they did not conquer:

The reason the Jews continued to worship pagan idols for over 400 years is that they had no king.

No!  Gideon became a king and his son were kings also.  But he only consented after saying God was their true king.  That was the problem.  They would not let God be their king.

Fact Of the Day

No! After they moved into their promised land as led by Joshua they kept worshiping the gods of the local pagans and ended up serving them a total of 59 years.

Fact Of the Day

No!  Samson judged the Israelites for 20 years.  Most of that time he lived in the cleft of a rock (cave) and judged from there.

There was only one Joshua in the Bible.

Numbers 13:16  –  Joshua 1:1,2  –  Zechariah 3:1-10  –  Matthew 1:21

Fact Of the Day

No!  The aide of Moses was Hoshea, meaning one who saves; Moses changed his name to Joshua meaning Jehovah saves, then made him the leader to take his place after he died.  The prophet Zechariah (around 520 BC) had a vision of a Joshua wearing the crowns of both the high priest and king – a prophecy of Jesus, the Messiah.  Joshua is the Hebrew pronunciation of his name.  In English it is pronounced Jesus.  The angel told Joseph:  “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

God appeared to Joshua in the form of a warrior.  The warrior told him to take off his sandals because he was standing on holy ground.  Joshua bowed down to him   Then THREE TIMES God told Joshua:
