Before World War I, Americans were isolationists. We wanted to be left alone by the rest of the world to mind our own business. When the world was threatened at the break of World War I, we changed and went to Europe, the Orient, and North Africa to help stop the aggressors.
Now, whenever the downtrodden of the world beg us to help them, we go. Is it an easy thing for Americans to go rescue another country? This is the price Americans pay to willingly help you.
